GREEN HORNETS BOYS' LACROSSE SELECT TEAMS:
What:
- Green Hornet Select aka club teams will be competing in the fall, spring and June season.
- Competition will be at the highest level competing against the best teams across the state of Maryland.
- Best coaching offering individual and group training with the best trainers in the region.
- Non parent coaches will assist volunteer parent coaches on each team.
Last year we had the following Head coaches run our sessions Dave Earl from SPHS, Joe Christie from Severn, Dave Cottle from the Bayhawks, Andy Hilgartner from McDonough, and Gene Ubriaco from Loyola HS, as well as Mike Burnett, and Buggs Combs.
All tryouts and most fall sessions and instruction will be done w/non parent best in class coaches and trainers.
This Fall lineup will be just as stellar!
Who: Rising 3rd-8th graders, single grade level, teams graduating years 2024-2029. All teams will be selected in August tryouts, circumstances may warrant some players be evaluated in the spring and be added to a Select Team.

Select Teams Fall/Winter Schedule
When:
Where (Fall practices): Severn High School turf fields for the fall
- Sundays September 8th thru October 26th, 2019
- 1-2 Fall Tournaments optional for additional cost
- Indoor Winter League optional for additional cost
- All select teams will have 3-6 one hour indoor WINTER practice sessions
Fall Cost: $200 due upon Fall registration, no tryout fee, but $25 late fee if received after June 16th
2 payments will allow players to opt out for either the fall or spring season. Each Select team will charge players a la carte for additional OPTIONAL tournaments and training.
Parents should expect to pay a total of $200-600 for the fall winter session.
- $200 Green Hornets Fall cost covers all Green Hornets overhead costs, fields, uniforms, misc team equipment; i.e. balls, goals, goalie equipment, cones etc.
- $100-400 additional approximate costs covers tournaments, scrimmages, indoor fields, non-parent tryout evaluations, training/coaching etc.
- Final amounts depend on the team, grade etc.
- Some grades have 2 teams, a 1st Green Team will have slightly higher costs, and a 2nd White team will have slightly lower costs.
- Please refer all questions regarding the additional cost to your 2020 head coaches noted above, or if they can't or don't answer your questions please email the Commissioner.
Select Teams Spring & Summer Schedule
When: Spring
Where (Spring practices): Kinder or Severna Park High School turf fields
- March 1: the weekend prior to Memorial Day weekend
- Select teams will practice two to three times during the week and have games on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
Where (Spring games): Select Teams will compete in these Spring Leagues:Spring and Summer Cost: $200 due upon Spring registration, $25 late fee will be applied after 2/15/2020.
- Howard County Youth Club Lacrosse League turf fields throughout the County; AND
- Anne Arundel County Youth Lacrosse New Club League, High School turf fields - Optional

The week before Memorial day through mid to late June, depending on the team
Where (Summer Practices): Kinder through May, Cypress Creek in June
Where (Summer Tournaments): 1-3 tournaments, depending on the age, typical tournaments could include the following:
- 1 tournament in Ocean City, Md
- Annapolis Hogan Summer Exposure
- Baltimore Aloha or Hogan tournament
