GREEN HORNETS BOYS' LACROSSE SPRING LEAGUES, RECREATION "REC"

Kindergarden-9th Grade Recreational division referred to by Green Hornets as Club.

Who: Kingergarden-2nd graders-Stingers

What: Stingers is a no body checking intramural division for kindergarten through 2nd graders. 2nd graders have the option to play in this no body contact intramural Green Hornets League, or the Rec. Anne Arundel County League below.

When: Team Selection and Practices for rec players start early March. Games start in April. Season ends week before Memorial Day.

Who: Grades 2nd-9th

While Select Teams will play single grade, the Anne Arundel County Youth Lacrosse League will likely continue to operate within a two year date of birth format. All Anne Arundel County games will be played on NCAA governed full fields.

Recreational/Club:

What:

  • Will compete in Anne Arundel County youth lacrosse league (AACYLL website) based on level of skill and experience
When:
  • Team placement evaluations will start late February/early March
  • Games will start in April and be played on Saturdays.
Cost: $90 Stingers, $130 U9, $150 all other club divisions (U11, U13, U15 )

Equipment:
Green Hornets does not provide equipment.
Each player must supply their own:

  • Lacrosse Stick
  • Helmet
  • Gloves
  • Arm pads
  • Shoulder pads
  • Mouth Guard
  • Cleats (recommended but not required)
Shorts, reversible pinnie jersey WILL be provided.

**Policy for children living outside the area: If your child lives outside of Anne Arundel Country and wishes to play for the Green Hornets, special circumstances can be made. For players seeking a transfer, Anne Arundel Country requires that a Youth Player Release form is completed and submitted via fax to the county sports supervisor: Georgette Shalhoup (410) 222-4120. Written confirmation must be provided to Green Hornets prior to participation in the league.
