GREEN HORNETS FOOTBALL: COST AND FUNDRAISING

Stinger Flag Football fees are $100 (approximately $50 less than I-9 Sports)

Stinger Refunds: Roster positions, equipment and fees have to be secured following registration for planning purposes. As a result, refunds for stingers can only be given if the player drops prior to season start.

Tackle Registration fees are $220 (about average for the cost when compared to all other AAYFA Organizations)

Please understand what you get with a Green Hornets’ Football Registration:

  • All Green Hornets’ Football Coaches are certified under the USA Football Heads-up Certification Program.
  • All Green Hornets’ Football Coaches are certified on Concussion protocols.
  • Green Hornets’ Football teaches the USA Football Heads-up Football Tackling and Blocking techniques to include Seahawk rugby style tackling.
  • All Green Hornets’ Football Helmets are inspected, tested, cleaned and certified prior to each season.
Refundable Equipment Security Deposit $250. (no change for 2019) Please see details under Equipment Link, Not due at time of registration.

Refunds: Roster positions, equipment and county fees have to be secured following registration, regardless of whether a child plays or not. As a result the Refund Policy is as follows:

Scholarships

Partially paid registrations (Full Scholarships are no longer available) are available on an extremely limited basis. Referred to as “scholarships”, these grants are not based on academics, but on need and situation. Our goal is to provide a place for kids to play. Please contact the Commissioner directly and each case will be reviewed individually. To be eligible, athletes must reside in the Severna Park feeder system to Severna Park High School.

Transfer Players

For players seeking a transfer into a new program, Anne Arundel County now requires that a Youth Player Release form be completed before acceptance. http://www.aacounty.org/forms-and-publications/youth-player-release

Any Green Hornets team can accept up to 3 incoming transfers per season that do not meet any exception listed within the Anne Arundel County Parks and Recreation Guidelines and Reference Manual. http://www.aacounty.org/departments/recreation-parks/forms-and-publications/RecPark_Guidelines_Reference_Manual.pdf

Fundraising

We asked, you answered and we listened. So beginning last season we scaled back our fundraising dramatically. Our refined plans include:

The Annual Bull Roast

  • A Bull Roast will be held in the middle of October – details to follow. This is the major fundraising effort for our program – maximum participation is key to our continued success. During the Bull Roast, the Organization holds a Silent Auction for themed “Team Baskets” that have been made from donations from the parents of each team in the program and/or any corporate/commercial donations from any of our corporate sponsors.
Downtown Severna Park Night at Rita’s
  • After successful completion of the second County Weigh-in, the organization as a whole ends practice about 15 minutes early and walks en-mass, in uniform from the Cypress Creek Practice Fields to “downtown Severna Park” to the Rita’s Ice Stand for some refreshment and some community bonding time.

Equipment Sales

  • We again will offer select equipment & practice gear for purchase at equipment handout. Details of available items and pricing will be emailed closer to hand out.
